Recipe: Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

If you have a pumpkin leftover after Halloween, maybe just maybe you might be thinking about throwing the pumpkin away. Before throwing it away why not cook the pumpkin seeds. Here is a short and quick way to cook and roast your pumpkin seeds.
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Instructions:
1. Take the pumpkin seeds out of the pumpkin.
2. Wash the pumpkin seeds by putting them in a medium bowl.
3. Let the pumpkin seeds dry by placing them on a paper towel.
4. Use aluminium foil to place on top of the cookie sheet.
5. Place the pumpkin seeds on the cookie sheet. Drizzle olive oil, vegetable oil, or butter on them and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Salt and Pepper are optional.
6. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-15 mins.
7. Cool the pumpkin seeds at least 5 or 10 minutes before eating.
There you have it your own roasted pumpkin seeds.

What does the direction of your windows facing in your home mean?

Whether you live in an apartment, home, or condo; knowing the proper way your windows are faced will allow you to choose the right paint color for your rooms.
South facing windows provide both heat and warm light during the winter. By choosing red, gold, creams, orange, or shades of yellow to paint your walls is a good consideration. Windows that face north will provide cooler light to a room. Choose colors such as blues, greens, or even violets that have a blue undertone to paint your walls is also another good consideration.
And as an alternative, if you just like your rooms painted white, it can create a serene but peaceful atmosphere with the right trim that has accents and deep shade of color to it.
Therefore, knowing your home site orientation for your windows can provide a warmth feeling in the winter and a cool feeling in the summer.

Green Festival 2010 in Washington, DC

The Green Festival was held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 and Sunday, October 24, 2010 in Washington DC at the Convention Center. The Sunday event was amazing. The moment you step in the door, there were a wide but diverse exhibitors that demonstrated and promoted health, renewal energy, transportation, and fashion.
During the Sunday event, Mom’s Organic was giving away tote bags and free sample of Cliff Bars which were absolutely delicious. Another area of interest at the Green Festival that was fascinating was renewal energy. Seeing this area of interest of renewal energy gave a way to look at how a person can reduce their energy or electricity is by using solar panels. The solar panels that were exhibited by the exhibitors has an advantage of giving back to the environment and saving money on electricity.
Around 12pm, there was a cooking demonstration from Stephen White on Cooking Raw. One demonstration that I saw from Mr. White was that he took the vegetables that was in his bowl(broccholi, carrots, and other vegetable) used a food processor to shred them and added a light dressing to it and gave it to the audience. This delicious vegetable mixed gives true meaning to Cooking Raw.

At 2:00pm, there was a fashion show. The theme was about accessories. The show was about 15 minutes in length and the fashion show displayed various fashions from exhibitors from the Green Festival. One that particular that stood out in my mind was a yellow crochet top with black pants and a flower pink bag to go with the outfit.
The Green Festival that was held in Washington DC on October 23rd and 24th gave way to look at the many different areas that may interest of interest to a person may it be in health, beauty, transportation, or even fashion, it was such an opportunity to see a different perspective of being green.
What is a Condo?

At Durant Manor Condos, we are starting our first post with something someone might already be familiar with which is “What is a condo?”
A condo or condominium is similiar to an apartment. The condo building provides similar features and amenities of an apartment but you are paying a mortgage along with condo fees on a condominim instead of just rent therefore making the condo a good or bad investment.
